The same Caedos, kept running for you, for work that has to stay up while your computer sleeps. We'll build it when enough people ask.

You bring your own key. Caedos calls a model only when a process's gate fires, never on a quiet tick, and each process has a daily budget and optional hard caps. Before you deploy, the control room shows an estimated monthly cost and a ceiling. Six of the nine blueprints never call a model at all.
The license, in plain English
Caedos is free for personal use and for work, at a company of any size, under the Elastic License 2.0. You may not offer it to others as a hosted or managed service. Caedos is closed source: you get the program, not its code.
FAQ
What does it cost?
Caedos is free, for personal use and for work. Model calls are billed by your provider on your key, and only happen when something changed. Each process has a daily budget and an estimate before deploy.
Does it check licenses or phone home?
No. There's no telemetry, no license check and no update check. Caedos connects only to what you set up: your model provider, what your synths name, your MCP servers, and the public MCP registry when you browse it.
Is it open source?
No. Caedos is closed source: you get the program, not its code. It's free for personal use and for work under the Elastic License 2.0. You can still check what it does: watch what it connects to, check each download's signature, and export your work whenever you like. Check it yourself.
Why isn't the source public?
Caedos is built by one person, and Caedos Cloud is how it will pay for itself. A closed engine is harder to copy and resell as a hosted service. The parts you build on are open: the synth format is documented, the blueprints are public domain, and your synths export as plain JSON.
What if Caedos stops?
If Caedos is discontinued, we release the source of its last version under the Apache License 2.0. Discontinued means no new release for 18 months, and no notice in that time, on caedos.com or in the caedos-run repository, that work continues.
Is there a hosted version?
Not yet. Tell us if you want one: Caedos Cloud gets built when enough people ask.
Is it free for work?
Yes, at a company of any size and on as many machines as you like. The license's main limit is that you can't offer Caedos to others as a hosted or managed service.
Do you take a cut of my model spend?
No. Your key, your bill.
Will pricing change?
Caedos Cloud will cost money when it exists. Caedos on your machine stays free for personal use, and a version's license terms don't change after it's released.
